Queer Noise Workshop is an experimental lab for young LGBTQIA+ people to create noise music using found objects such as wire, metal cans, old guitar strings, and more to build their own recording microphones and instruments.
Join sound curator and engineer Chris Duddy, along with the experimental team from Four Track Nights, for a hands-on workshop where you’ll get to create your own unique sound piece and learn the basics of digital sound technology. Whether you’re looking to break into the creative sound industry or just want to explore something new, this event is the perfect starting point.
Queer Noise Workshop is a collaboration between Dreamy Place and B.Fest. It is part of the Experimental Noise Artists’ Seminar, supported by British Art Network, Paul Mellon Centre, Tate, and Arts Council England. Its goal is to connect and support diverse sound artists and young talent in developing professional skills in noise and sound-making.
Chris Duddy is a lecturer in production arts and a specialist in events production technologies.
As a multi-artform practitioner and specialist in digital visuals, sound and creative technologies, Chris blends light, sound and film with physical structures to produce work that exists in both physical and virtual environments.
While teaching sound and music, Chris noticed that students and creatives from less privileged backgrounds often struggled to break into the creative industries. Determined to make a difference, he launched Four Track Nights – an independent space designed to help digital video and experimental sound artists, an open and accessible platform. Four Track Nights gives artists and musicians a platform to showcase their work, connect with the wider arts community, and build the opportunities they deserve.
